Residents in Sydney's Inner West

While World Youth Day 2008 events are being held within the Sydney CBD and Randwick, there will be impact to bus routes servicing Sydney's Inner West and to Light Rail services on Sunday 20 July.

With the closure of George Street north of Druitt Street from Tuesday 15 to Friday 18 July between 10am and midnight, daily, bus routes will divert to parallel roads.

From 12 noon on Thursday 17 July for the afternoon peak period, buses terminating at Circular Quay will instead terminate at and depart from Martin Place and Wynyard.

On Saturday 19 July there will be changes of bus routes into the CBD. Buses that normally travel into the city along Broadway will be diverted along Wattle Street. Buses originating south or east of Randwick will be diverted around the racecourse and Centennial Park, buses from the North Shore will terminate at North Sydney where people will need to transfer to trains to get to the city.

On Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July, most services that usually depart from Eddy Avenue will depart from Railway Square in Lee Street. Route 311 and 378 services will depart from Hyde Park in Liverpool Street.

For further information on bus routes and services, visit the Transport InfoLine website.

On Sunday 20 July, light rail services will terminate at Haymarket between 12 noon and 8pm, due to the large crowds expected at Central Station following the Final Mass.
