Parking around Randwick and Centennial Park

18,000 road signs advising of over 500 World Youth Day special event clearways, 300 road closures, and local parking schemes around Randwick Racecourse are now going up around Sydney.

Over the coming weeks leading up to World Youth Day, the RTA will be progressively installing signs advising of temporary traffic changes between 11 and 21 July in affected suburbs, including in the Sydney CBD, North Sydney, Surry Hills, Randwick, Kensington and Moore Park.

These signs form part of the overall transport planning and traffic management for the week of World Youth Day, which encompasses changes to local roads and public transport routes.

Residents living within a two kilometre radius of Randwick Racecourse will be issued with a letter in mid June explaining the conditions of the local parking scheme and two parking permits that will exempt them from the Special Event 1 Hour parking restrictions, which will be in place on Friday 18, Saturday 19 and Sunday 20 July.

Due to the scale and extent of the signage, motorists driving in the CBD, Eastern Suburbs and North Sydney between 11 and 21 July should check all signs carefully and plan their journey ahead of time.
